A husband complained to his doctor that his wife lately has started to get deaf. The doctor asked, how close should he speak until his wife can hear him. The husband couldn\'t answer the question. The doctor then asked him to find out.

The husband immediately went home. At the house gate the husband called: “Darling, I\'m home, what do we have for dinner tonight?” No answer was heard. Entering the guest room door, the husband again called the same question, and no answer was heard also at that time. Entering the living room, the husband again said the same sentence for the third time, there he also didn\'t hear any answer. The husband then approached his wife, who at that time was cooking in the kitchen. After he was close, he repeated the same sentence: “Darling, I\'m home. What do we have for dinner tonight? “ The wife then answered: ”Tonight we have chicken, darling. I\'ve answered it four times.”
